From Stand to Olovus – our journey
In 2020, we founded Stand, inspired by a piece of street art in California that read, ‘Stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything.’
This phrase resonated with our values and commitment to meaningful involvement in health and care transformation.
Paul and Caroline’s partnership began years earlier in the NHS in the North East of England, where they collaborated on challenging service change projects. Their shared values, mutual respect, and a fondness for US TV drama The West Wing laid the foundation for a strong friendship and professional collaboration.
Over the past five years, we’ve worked across the UK, delivering projects in patient and public involvement, complex consultations, and health service change. Our team has grown, but our mission remains the same: to support healthcare leaders in navigating complex service changes with confidence and integrity.
In 2025, we celebrated five years of Stand and it felt like a fitting moment to change our name. Over the years we found that Stand was often confused with others. And we want to be easy to recognise and clear about who we are.

So we decided to change our name to Olovus.
It’s a name that echoes “all of us”, reflecting our inclusive approach and dedication to involving people in decisions that matter.
While our name has changed, our commitment to our clients and communities remains steadfast.
We look forward to continuing our journey with you as Olovus, helping to deliver meaningful improvements in health and care services.
