Summer Team Day 2026 – stepping away from our screens

August 14, 2026

Remote working gives us huge flexibility and day-to-day balance. When you work online, you can collaborate successfully with colleagues for months or even years before ever sharing the same physical room. Our summer team day is a chance to step away from our screens and get together in person to focus on the people who make our team tick.

This year, we gathered in the North Yorkshire countryside to spend the day at the beautiful Swinton Estate. The weather could not have been better, treating us to glorious sunshine and stunning views across the grounds all day long.

We kicked things off in the morning testing our orienteering and problem-solving skills by navigating around the estate on foot, solving the cryptic puzzles as we went.

After a fantastic lunch together, we lined up for archery, where instructors helped everyone from complete beginners to seasoned archers hone their aim.

After archery, some of us took another walk around the grounds looking for clues in a surprisingly stressful outdoor escape-style game where we raced against the clock to decipher the clues and defuse a bomb before time ran out.

Others tried their hand at axe throwing (apparently a surprisingly good stress reliever!). Overarm throws, double-handed ‘Viking’ throws and even underarm throws. A few of the team turned out to be good axe throwers, uncovering talents they didn’t know existed.

It was a brilliant day from start to finish, filled with fresh air, laughs, and great conversation. We left North Yorkshire with fond memories, stronger connections, and some stories to tell when we’re back at our desks.
